Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers about accounts, subscriptions, and connection troubleshooting. Choose the section that matches your issue, then check the current status in your user panel.
Accounts & Subscriptions
From securing your account to importing a subscription. Check your account and configuration first, then move on to switching devices.
Do I need an email address to create an account? How should I protect my account details?
No email address is required; create an account with a username and password. Save your credentials in a trusted password manager, and avoid reusing passwords from other sites. Keep your subscription link private as well: it may contain account credentials used to retrieve route configurations. Don’t post it in public chats, screenshots, or shared documents. If you can’t sign in, check your keyboard input, letter case, and any outdated password saved in your browser, then use the available help option in the user panel. Never include your password or full subscription link in a public support request.
How do I update my subscription link? What’s the difference between refreshing a configuration and changing the link?
Sign in to the user panel and open the client download or subscription section. Use the option currently provided there to get your subscription, then update it in your client’s subscription manager. Refreshing a configuration usually retrieves the route list again using the existing link. Changing the subscription link affects access credentials, so follow the options available in the panel. After updating, make sure the client is using the refreshed configuration before selecting a route. If the old configuration is still selected, the new list may not be used. If you suspect the link has been exposed, take action through the panel and check subscriptions saved on your other devices.
Do I need to choose a new plan when I switch devices? Can I use multiple devices at once?
VPN57 allows unlimited devices to be connected simultaneously, so switching devices alone doesn’t require choosing a new plan. Sign in to the same user panel on the new device, get the client and subscription for its platform, and import them using the guide. Device support and plan data allowance are separate: unlimited devices doesn’t mean unlimited data. Check your account’s data usage and plan status. When you stop using an old device, remove any saved subscription and account details from it. To compare connection behavior across devices, try routes in the same region and test the apps you actually use on each device. This helps distinguish local device settings from plan issues.
Where can I download the client? How is the iOS download different?
VPN57 supports Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. Open the Downloads section in the user panel and choose the option for your operating system. Don’t mistake an identically named installer in search results for a VPN57 client. After signing in, you can get the client for Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux; check your plan status before using a subscription. Access to the iOS download depends on your active plan. Follow the instructions shown in the panel. After installing the client, retrieve and import your subscription—installing the app alone doesn’t connect you to a route. See our guides for the full setup process.
Connections & Troubleshooting
Check your local network, subscription status, proxy path, and target app in that order to avoid the confusion of changing several settings at once.
The client says it’s connected, but websites won’t load. What should I check first?
Disconnect first and confirm your local network can reach commonly used websites. Reconnect, then check the selected route, configuration, and proxy mode. A connected status only indicates a change in connection state; it doesn’t confirm that a specific website is reachable. Next, check that your subscription is up to date and your plan and data are active, and see whether another proxy or network tool is enabled on your system. Change one setting at a time and note the results so you can identify the cause. If only one website is affected, check whether the site itself is having problems, whether your account has region requirements, or whether a local proxy setting is involved. There’s no need to reinstall everything right away.
Why can I browse the web but not route a specific app through the proxy?
A browser and other apps may use different network paths. Check whether the client has per-app rules enabled, whether the app is excluded, and whether its domains are set to connect directly. Some apps don’t automatically follow the system proxy, so configure them using an interception method supported by both your client and operating system. Browser access alone doesn’t confirm that other apps are proxied. Fully close and reopen the app after making changes, then see whether the error changes. For command-line tools or an IDE, check the proxy environment settings for the process itself. Avoid copying rules from unknown sources, as they may change the network path for services that already work.
The connection often drops when the app moves to the background. How can I troubleshoot it?
Check whether disconnections consistently occur after the screen locks, the network changes, or the system enters power-saving mode. If the issue seems related to background activity, check the client’s background, battery, and network permissions in system settings, allow it to run normally, and test again. Options vary by operating system, so refer to your device’s current settings. Also check for other apps that change network settings and may conflict with the proxy configuration. Note when the disconnection occurs and what the client reports. Switch routes for comparison only if the issue occurs on a particular route. Don’t assume every disconnection is caused by background restrictions.
What information should I include in a support ticket about a connection issue?
Sign in to the user panel and open the ticket section. Describe your platform, client, network environment, and selected route region, along with the step where the issue occurs—signing in, importing a subscription, or accessing an app. Include reproducible steps, the error message, and troubleshooting you’ve already tried; this is more useful than simply saying the connection doesn’t work. Before sharing screenshots, hide passwords, your full subscription link, access credentials, and other personal information. If only one app is affected, mention whether your browser works and whether switching routes changes the result. Don’t include unrelated chats or private files in your ticket.
Speed & Routes
Choose a route based on the destination service’s regional requirements and your actual results, not just its name or geographic distance.
My connection slows down during peak hours. How can I tell whether it’s the route or my local network?
Pause large downloads on other devices and apps, check your Wi-Fi signal and basic internet connection, then compare routes using the same service. If all routes and commonly used local websites are slow, check your local network first. If only one route is affected, try another route and note the difference. Keep the device, content, and testing conditions consistent; a change in video quality, for example, isn’t necessarily a change in route speed. Peak-hour performance can be affected by your local connection, network congestion, and the destination service. A route label or one-off test isn’t a guarantee of consistent speeds.
Should I choose a route by distance, region, or route name?
VPN57 covers 100+ countries / 170+ routes. First check which regions the destination service allows, then test routes for those regions currently shown in the user panel. Distance is only one factor: actual performance also depends on your local carrier, network path, and the destination service’s location. A region name alone can’t predict results. Keep routes that work well for your everyday needs and compare other routes if problems arise. Check the user panel for current cities, route types, and availability. Coverage doesn’t mean every website is available in every region; third-party platforms have their own regional and account requirements.
Will switching routes fix video buffering or interrupted AI responses?
Trying a different route can help with troubleshooting, but it won’t resolve every issue. Video buffering may be related to your local bandwidth, content source, or playback settings. Interrupted AI responses may be caused by platform rate limits, account permissions, expired sessions, or a dropped long-lived connection. First check whether regular websites work, then test again with the same service and note any errors and when the interruption occurs. Choose a route that meets the platform’s regional requirements and keep your network environment stable during the session. VPN57 provides network connectivity; third-party platforms control their own sign-in, content access, and risk checks. A working connection doesn’t guarantee that an account or feature will be available.
The route list is shorter, names have changed, or older routes have disappeared. What should I do?
Update the subscription in your client, then make sure the selected configuration belongs to your account. The client may retain an old cache, filters, or another subscription, so its list can differ from the panel. Clear any filters and compare the list with the current route information in the panel. If necessary, reimport the subscription using the guide, but don’t delete your only working configuration first. Use the panel as the source of truth for route names, cities, and availability; examples on the site aren’t a permanent list. If the update fails, note the error and check your basic network connection. If it succeeds but the list still differs significantly, open a ticket with details about the client and configuration source. Hide your full subscription link before submitting.
Billing & Refunds
Monthly plans and data packages have different data rules. Check the relevant order before paying, upgrading, or requesting a refund.
How much do monthly plans and data packages cost, and which should I choose?
Monthly plans: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date. Data packages: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. They don’t expire and remain available until used. Choose based on whether your usage is regular and how consistent your monthly data needs are, rather than comparing only the one-time payment. If you use the service regularly, check the monthly plan allowances. If your usage is spread out over time, consider a data package. Review the full details on the plans page before choosing. Your plan and usage in the account panel are authoritative; don’t combine allowances across different billing types when estimating your data.
When does monthly plan data reset? What happens if I upgrade partway through a billing period?
Monthly plan data resets each month on the activation date, not necessarily on the first day of the calendar month. If you upgrade partway through a billing period, the price difference is prorated based on the remaining days. Check the confirmation shown in the user panel for the exact result. Before proceeding, review your current plan, remaining data, and status, then read the confirmation for the new plan rather than estimating from the price difference alone. Data packages stay available until used and don’t expire; monthly reset rules don’t apply to them. If the panel shows something unexpected, save screenshots of the order and account status, hide sensitive information, and ask for help through a ticket before taking further action.
Which payment methods are supported? What should I do if my plan status doesn’t change after payment?
VPN57 supports Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT. Start from the Orders section in the user panel and follow the payment details shown on the order page. If your plan status hasn’t changed after payment, return to the order and check its processing status. Confirm that you used the correct account and completed all required payment steps. Don’t pay again just because the page hasn’t refreshed, and don’t transfer money to payment details from unknown sources in chat. If you need help, submit the relevant order ID, payment method, and a redacted payment receipt through a ticket. Never share your payment password, account password, or full subscription link.
How long is the refund period, and how do I request a refund?
VPN57 offers a 30-day no-questions-asked refund policy. Before applying, read the refund terms in the Terms of Service. Sign in to the user panel associated with the order and submit your request through the ticket section, including the relevant order details. You may describe any issues you encountered, but don’t disclose your password, full subscription link, or other access credentials. The Terms of Service govern refund coverage, eligibility, and processing. This page makes no additional promises about payment arrival times or the processing speed of specific payment methods. Check for replies and provide any requested details in the same ticket to keep the review in one place.
